The researchers started a study in 2003 to look at what makes people live past 90.

They say participants in their study who drank moderate amounts of alcohol or coffee lived longer than those who abstained from either drink.
I love a great cup of coffee and a glass of nice red wine. I am also extremely particular about where that coffee/coffee bean and wine come from. How were they grown, treated, produced. It is beyond organic – as even organically grown coffee can have mold and toxins present. Wine is the same thing – there are so many additives in commercial wine, the way they are grown, processed and produces. I only drink sugar-free, carb-free, and mold-free dry wines, they taste so fresh, and crisp and there is never a headache, even if on a rare occasion I overindulge.

The way I see it – being a health geek that I am, and living this lifestyle of constant focus on healing I do not have many vices. Smocking, drinking hard liquor, not sleeping, staying out all night dancing – non of these is a part of my life any longer. I had to give up sugar! Croissants, muffins, apple fritters and bagels – Oh how I loved them with my coffee. Twizzlers and gummy bears were my favorite candies, chewy and so yummy. Ice-cream. Potato chips! Nachos, fried calamari, pizza, pasta, pancakes, salami and hot dogs are no longer a part of my daily diet. Even bread! Sandwich or a toast – was an absolute necessity of our daily diet. The way I see it – with all that we gave up – we should be drinking every night just to make ourselves feel better. 🙂 🙂 🙂
A side note – I have never in my life done any drugs. I have tried pot for the first time in my late thirties and did not like it at all.
So i guess the point I am trying to make is that a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass or two of wine at dinner (couple of time a week) are vices that I love to keep, and I am willing to pay for a good quality product that will actually be beneficial to my health.
This research just confirms the benefits I came across studying and researching ways to improve my health and wellbeing.
To your health,
Elena
